The Cairn Whisky Distillery is situated 12
miles northeast of Aviemore, 2 miles south of
Grantown-on-Spey, just off the main
A95 road.
The Distillery can be visited most of the
year for the Shop, Restaurant and Tours.

This is a Single Malt Whisky Distillery that
opened in 2022, so their first Bottles will not
be sold until the 2030s.
The Distillery is owned by Gordon &
MacPhail, who also own the Benromach Distillery at Forres
23 miles north, with them being famous for
Blending Malt Whisky from around this area
since the 1800s.
The Cairn Distillery sells their Malt Whisky
and Blended Malt Whisky, 12 - 70 years old,
about £50 - £7,000 per bottle.

The Cairn Distillery History
1895 - Gordon & MacPhail opened a shop
on South Street in Elgin selling Groceries, Wines &
Spirits, with the shop still there today.
Gordon & MacPhail soon became famous for
Blending Whisky from the Speyside area, and
being the first to release 70 and 80 year old
Whisky, winning many awards.
1993 - Gordon & MacPhail bought the
Benromach Distillery at Forres that opened in
1898.
2018 - the Benromach Distillery also began
producing Red Door Gin.
2022 - Gordon & MacPhail opened a new
Distillery named The Cairn by Grantown-on-Spey
with a Riverside Walk along the wide River
Spey.
