Most Scotland Bus routes in the east of Scotland depart from Edinburgh, and in the west depart from Glasgow. It takes about 1 hour 20 minutes for coaches to travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Bus Stations are all close to the city centres.

Touring Scotland, you can buy an Explorer Pass for 5 days about £39, 10 days about £59, or 16 days about £79.

Days Out tickets to Edinburgh or Glasgow allow you to take a coach to Edinburgh or Glasgow, then the City Sightseeing coaches, also included are discount tickets for entry to many of the attractions.

You can book tickets online or just pay the driver when getting on the bus. Busy times are best pre-booked to ensure a seat.

CityLink, Megabus and some other coach companies work together, so all can be booked through the CityLink website.

Prices listed below are just a guide as certain dates may offer Super Saver deals when booking, up to half price.

Glasgow buses are best caught at Buchannan Street Bus Station on the north side of the city centre. Website.

Aberdeen - Aberdeen Airport
Bus numbers 307, 10 and 27 run from the airport to the city centre. Cost is £2.70 approximately for a one-way ticket. Numbers 307 and 10 terminate at the bus station where there are taxis. Travel time about 40 minutes.

Edinburgh - Edinburgh Airport
All the public buses pick up and drop off outside the UK arrivals area. The bus stops at Edinburgh Airport are at stand 18 on the terminal forecourt road outside the UK arrivals hall.

Airlink 100 & 100 Express (100X) to the city centre. The bus departs from outside the arrivals area and NOT from the bus stops further down Route: Airport - Maybury (For Marriot Hotel 5 mins) - Drum Brae - Edinburgh Zoo - Murrayfield (Rugby Stadium) - Haymarket (for trains) - West End, Princes St (at Frederick St) - Waverley Bridge, near to the main railway station and bus station. Cost: about £3.50 single, £6 return (children £2 single, £3 return). Travel time about 30 minutes.

Edinburgh - Aberdeen
Coaches take about 3 hours to travel between Edinburgh and Aberdeen stopping at Kinross, Perth and Dundee. Price guide about £28 single, return £47.

Glasgow - Glasgow International Airport
Regular bus services travel between Glasgow and Glasgow Airport such as the No 905 from Stop No 3 at the front of the Terminal and Airbus Express from stop No 5 at the front of the Tterminal. Travel time about 20 minutes. Price guide about £4 single. Stops in Glasgow centre are around Central Train Station and Queens Street Train Station.

Glasgow - Glasgow Prestwick Airport & Ayr
Express Service X77 To Glasgow and Ayr: Route: Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station - Glasgow Wellington St - Glasgow Waterloo St - (some buses stop at Kilmarnock Bus Station) - Prestwick Airport Terminal - Prestwick Cross - Ayr Bus station.

Timings: From Prestwick Airport Terminal to Glasgow: Mon-Fri: 06:38, 07:08 then every 30 mins from 08:33 until 19:33. Saturdays: 06:38, 07:33, 08:13, 08:33 then every 30 mins from 08:33 until 16:33, then hourly until 19:33. Sundays: 10:08, 12:08, 14:08 & 16:08. Cost: Adult single to Glasgow £4.20, Ayr £1.50. Child half price.
