Cairngorm
situated about 10 miles southeast of
Aviemore, 126 miles north of
Edinburgh
Cairngorm is a mountain in the Gairngorms
National Park overlooking the town of
Aviemore. At 4084 ft, it is the sixth
highest mountain in the United Kingdom.
Scotland's top ski resort was developed
here from 1960 and the Cairngorm
Mountain Railway was opened in 2001.
The top station has a Visitor Centre and
Restaurant with the best views in
Scotland. The top Ptarmigan Station is at
approximately 3,599 ft. Regular trains
and buses run to Aviemore from all over
the UK. Regular buses run from Aviemore

Nevis Range
situated 5 miles east of Fort William,
107 miles northwest of Glasgow
The Nevis Range is located on Aonoch Mor
mountain just north of Ben Nevis. The
centre offers a variety of terrain from
gentle beginner slopes by the top gondola
station to advanced off piste runs in the
back corries. The range caters for almost
every type of snow sport. The website
gives a list of prices and information on
lessons. There are 12 lifts including a
gondola, mountain restaurant and much
more. Regular buses and trains run to
Fort William from all over the UK.

Lecht 2090 is based 2090 feet (645m)
above sea level amid the beauty of the

Yad Moss Snow Slope situated about
25 miles east of Penrith in Cumbria
The ski area is served by a fast Poma
button tow which is unsuitable for
inexperienced skiers and snowboarders.
Length 600m: Vertical rise 120m: Top
Station 725m: Uplift 600 people per hour.
Depending on snow cover there are up to
eight or so runs, half a mile in length,
some are prepared by a piste groomer when
