Statendam was the first of four mid-sized sister ships built for the Holland America Line. The other three ships are Maasdam that entered service in 1993, Ryndam 1994, and Veendam 1996.

These four ships were the largest built for the Holland America Line at that time with 10 passenger decks, 2 pools, 5 bars, casino, fitness center, 600 seat show lounge, 485 outside cabins with 149 having verandas, 148 inside cabins, can carry 1,266 passengers and a crew of 602.

Statendam's Itinerary is mainly between Seattle & Alaska, and San Diego - Hawaii & the Pacific islands. Reviews. This ship will enter service for P&O Cruise Australia in late 2015 to be operated as their Pacific Aria.

Maasdam’s Itinerary is between Montreal & Boston, and Fort Lauderdale - Caribbean, Panama Canal, & South America, 7 - 50 nights. Reviews.

Ryndam's Itinerary is mainly Northern Europe cruises out of Harwich/England, and longer cruises to the Far East. Reviews. This ship will enter service for P&O Cruise Australia in late 2015 to be operated as their Pacific Eden.

Veendam’s Itinerary is Boston - New England, Canada & Northern Europe, Caribbean & Panama Canal. Reviews.
