Norwegian Sky was originally being built as a sister ship for the Costa Cruise Lines Costa Victoria. After the bankruptcy of the Bremer Vulcan shipyard in 1996, the Norwegian Cruise Line bought this ship to be completed at Lloyd Werft, under the name Norwegian Sky. She followed NCLs 42,276- ton mid sized cruise ships Norwegian Sea and Norwegian Wind that entered service in 1992 and 1993. At over 70,000 tons, Norwegian Sky was the first cruise ship in the NCL fleet to be classed in the large category.

The Norwegian Cruise Line had extensive remodeling work carried out on Norwegian Sky in 2004 before basing her at Hawaii to be operated under the name Pride of Aloha. In 2008, her name was changed back to Norwegian Sky.

This ship has 12 passenger decks, 2 pools, 12 bars, casino, fitness center, 1,000-seat entertainment lounge, 574 outside cabins of which 265 have balconies, 427 inside cabins, can carry 2,002 passengers and a crew of 814.

Pride of Aloha was operated on 7 night cruises out of Honolulu or Maui to various ports throughout Hawaii.

Nowegian Sky's Iitnerary is now out of Miami on 3 & 4 day cruises to the Grand Bahama, Nassau & Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. Reviews.
