Grandeur of the Seas was the first
of four ships in this class to enter service
for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. These
four ships are slightly larger than RCCLs
previous largest ships, the 73,192-ton
Sovereign class. The other three sisters
Enchantment of the
Seas entered service in 1997,
Rhapsody of the
Seas 1997 and Vision of
the Seas 1998.
This class of cruise ship has 10 passenger
decks, 2 pools, 8 bars, casino, fitness
center, 870-seat theatre, 576 outside cabins
of which 212 have verandas, 399 inside
cabins, can carry 1,950 passengers and a crew
of 760.
Grandeur
is mainly operated on cruises out of Fort
Lauderdale & Tampa - Caribbean.
Enchantment is operated on
cruises from Norfolk & Baltimore -
Bahamas & Caribbean. Another route is
from Colon in Panama - Southern
Caribbean.
Rhapsody
cruises out of Seattle and Vancouver - Alaska
as well as a number of routes out of
Sydney/Australia to the South Pacific.
Vision
is operated on cruises from Sao Paulo to
various South American ports. Her northern
Europe cruises depart from Copenhagen, Oslo
and Stockholm.
