With the success of Carnivals first
purpose built cruise ship the 36,674-ton
Tropicale; they ordered three larger
cruise ships. The first ship of this class
Holiday entered service in 1985
followed by Jubilee in 1986 and
Celebration in 1987.
These ships have 9 passenger decks, 2
pools, 9 bars, casino, fitness center, 700
seat main show lounge, 447 outside cabins
with 10 having verandas, 279 inside cabins,
can carry 1,452 passengers and a crew of
660.
Holiday was operated by Carnival out of Los Angeles,
New Orleans & Mobile. She was transferred to the Spanish,
Iberocruceros in 2010 to be operated as their Grand
Holiday.
Celebration’s main route for Carnival was
from Jacksonville - Bahamas & Florida. She was transferred
to the Spanish, Iberocruceros in 2008 to be operated as
their Grand Celebration.
Jubilee was mainly operated out
of Tampa, Galveston & San Juan before
being transferred to P&O Australia in
2005 to cruise out of Sydney - Australia's
east coast islands and New Zealand under the
name Pacific Sun.
