Carnival Dream is the first of two cruise ships in this class to enter service for the Carnival Cruise Line.The second ship in this class, Carnival Magic, will enter service in 2011. These ships followed the nine 110,000 ton Carnival Destiny class from 1996 - 2008 and the four 89,500 ton Carnival Spirit class from 2001 - 2004.

This class of cruise ship has 14 passenger decks, 3 pools, 7 whirlpools, large water park, 14 bars, 3 dance clubs, casino, fitness center, 1,400 seat show lounge, 1,145 outside cabins with 775 having verandas, 688 inside cabins; can carry up to 3,646 passengers and a crew of 1,369.

Carnival Dream is operated on 7 day Western Caribbean cruises out of Port Canaveral with stops in Cozumel, Isla Roatan, Belize & Costa Maya.

Her 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruises out of Port Canaveral stop in Nassau, St. Thomas & St. Maarten.
