Statendam was the first of four
mid-sized sister ships built for the Holland
America Line. The other three ships are
Maasdam that entered service in 1993,
Ryndam 1994 and Veendam
1996.
These four ships were the largest built
for the Holland America Line at that time
with 10 passenger decks, 2 pools, 5 bars,
casino, fitness center, 600 seat show lounge,
485 outside cabins with 149 having verandas,
148 inside cabins, can carry 1,266 passengers
and a crew of 602.
Statendam is mainly operated
on 7 night cruises between Vancouver &
Seaward/Alaska. Other routes are cruises from
Fort Lauderdale - Caribbean and 14 day
cruises between Fort Lauderdale and San Diego
via the Panama Canal.
Maasdam’s main routes
are between Montreal & Boston, and Fort
Lauderdale - Caribbean.
Rayndam
is operated on 7 night cruises between
Vancouver & Seaward/Alaska, Tampa -
Caribbean and 21 day cruises between Tampa
and Vancouver via the Panama Canal.
Veendam’s main routes
are New York - Bermuda and many different
South America cruises with some including the
Amazon and Antarctica.
