Quantum of the Seas is the first of three cruise ships in this class to enter service for the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Her sister ship Anthem of the Seas entered service in 2015, and Ovation of the Seas in 2016.

These two ships follow RCCLs 220,000-ton Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas class ships that entered service in 2009 and 2010. These are the two largest passenger ships built so far.

Quantum has 16 passenger decks, numerous bars, 18 restaurants, 4 pools, 1,300 seat theatre, 2,090 staterooms: 1,570 with balconies, 147 ocean view, 373 inside, can carry 4,180 passengers, and a crew of 2,090.
