Following the Royal Caribbean Cruise
Line's takeover of Celebrity Cruises in
1997, Millennium was the first of
four cruise ships in this class built for
Celebrity Cruises under their new parent
company. The other three sister ships are
Infinity that entered service in
2001, Summit also 2001 and
Constellation 2002. These four
ships followed Celebrity's two 77,713-ton
Galaxy class that entered service in 1996
and 1997. The 122,000 ton Celebrity
Solstice Class ships began entering
service in 2008.
Millennium class ships have 11
passenger decks, 3 pools, 8 bars, casino,
fitness center, 870-seat theatre, 764
outside cabins with 570 having balconies,
206 inside cabins, can carry 1,940
passengers and a crew of 999.
Millennium is mainly
operated on cruises out of San Juan -
Caribbean, and out of Vancouver -
Alaska.
Infinity is mainly
operated on 7 night cruises from
Vancouver - Alaska, and 7 nights from
Fort Lauderdale - Puerto Rico, Florida,
Bahamas & Caribbean. Occasional
routes are from San Diego - Hawaii,
Buenos Aires/Argentina &
Valparaiso/Chile, and from Los Angeles -
Mexico, Panama Canal & Caribbean.
Summit is operated on
cruises out of San Juan - Caribbean and
Cape Liberty - Bahamas & New
England.
Constellation is
operated on Scandinavia & Russian
cruises out of Amsterdam, Mediterranean
cruises out of Barcelona, Caribbean
cruises out of Fort Lauderdale &
Miami and Panama Canal cruises between
Fort Lauderdale and San Diego.
