courses in the world that can match
Turnberry for beauty or excitement. Scene
of some of the most memorable moments in
Open history, the Ailsa championship
course is a legend in the world game.

won golf’s most coveted trophy here
on the Turnberry links. And another name

Royal Troon
links courses
Founded in 1878 by a few enthusiasts,
Troon Golf Club soon outgrew its purely
local reputation. The Old Course today
presents a stern golfing examination and
in particular the inward half of Royal
Troon is widely accepted as the most
demanding of any Course on the
Championship rota. Situated on the south
side of Troon about 1 mile from the town

Prestwick Golf
Club links course
Prestwick Golf Club, known to many as Old
Prestwick, was the fist course to host
the Open Championship when the tournament
began in 1860. Situated on the north side
of Prestwick less that 0.5 miles from the
town centre and Prestwick Airport. Price

Western Gailes
links course
Western Gailes Golf Club, founded in
1897, is situated on the Ayrshire coast
of Scotland where many of the finest
Scottish golf links are located. It is
recognised as one of the finest and true
links courses in Scotland measuring 6899
yards from the championship tees. The
course has played host to the Curtis Cup,
PGA Championship, Seniors and prestigious
Scottish Amateur Championship. It is also
one of the final qualifying courses when
The Open is played at Turnberry or Royal

Belleisle
parks course
Belleisle is one of three grade 1 courses
run by South Ayrshire Council, the others
being the links courses Loch Green and
Darley in Troon. Exceptionally popular
courses because of their locations and
low prices. Belleisle is situated about 2
miles south of Ayr town centre. The
clubhouse for Darley and Loch Green is
situated about 0.3 miles east of Troon
town centre with the Darley course
spreading out north and Loch Green south.
There are also shorter couses next to
Belleisle and Darley for the less serious
golfers or for warm up play. Price guide

Brunston Castle Golf
Club parks course
The Burns Course, 6800 yards long, is a
challenging par 72 split by the water of
Girvan. Sheltered by the rolling South
Carrick Hills, this scenic course is
