Royal Troon links courses, on the south side of Troon. Founded in 1878 with The Old Course today presenting a tough golfing challenge, in particular the inward half said to be the most demanding of any Course on the Championship rota. Western Gailes links course, on the south side of Irvine. Founded in 1897, the club is recognised as one of the top true links courses in Scotland, measuring 6899 yards from the championship tees. The course held the Curtis Cup, PGA Championship, Seniors, and Scottish Amateur Championship. It is also one of the final qualifying courses for The Open at Turnberry or Troon. Dundonald Links Golf Club image

Dundonald Links links course, on the south side of Irvine. The 6,410 - 7,300 yard par 72 Dundonald Links is situated between Troon and Irvine. Prices for visitors are about £40 - £95 per round. This is one of the newest Links courses in Scotland opening in 2003. The course is owned by the company that runs the Loch Lomond Golf Club that is a parks course.
