The bus stop is situated outside the Arrivals Hall (Exit D). Bus line 1 goes to the center of Palma (Paseo Mallorca) in approximately 30 minutes. Taxis are outside Exit D. Palma Port

The Port of Palma has become a major cruise port with many cruise ships departing from Palma for Mediterranean cruises. Some cruise lines offer packages of one week cruise out of Palma and one week holiday on one of the Islands resorts.

In the distance is the La Seu Cathedral, one of many interesting buildings in the ancient City of Palma.

The City of Palma tends to attract tourists more interested in culture as its nightlife, although often described as being vibrant, doesn't have all night karaoke bars or foam parties.

La Seu is a cathedral located in Palma de Mallorca, built on the site of an existing Arab mosque. It is 121 metres long, 55 metres wide and 44 meters of nave height. Designed in Spanish "levantino" Gothic style with influences of the North European gothic, it was founded by King James I of Aragon in 1229 but finished only in 1601.

Another tourist attraction is Bellver Castle, situated on a hill near Palma. It was built in the 14th century for King James II of Aragon. It was used as a military prison during the 18th and 19th centuries. Now it is one of the main tourist attractions of the island.

Palma Nova

Palma Nova is one of the largest resorts situated about 15 miles southwest of Palma Airport.

This resort normally attracts younger tourists in the height of summer looking for a lively adventure with a vibrant nightlife.

From October to Easter, the resort is sold more for relaxing holidays for the more mature as most of the nightlife bars and clubs close during the week.

Magaluf is situated about 17 miles southwest of Palma Airport next to Palma Nova.

Magaluf is normally regarded as the most vibrant resort on the island, attracting the 18 - 30 group in the height of summer for beach fun and late night parties.

As with Palma Nova, October to Easter, the resort is more suitable for relaxing holidays as many of the late night bars close down during the week.

Magaluf Beach

Santa Ponsa Beach

Santa Ponsa is situated about 19 miles southwest of Palma Airport.

Unlike the nearby "Brit" resorts of Palma Nova and Magaluf, Santa Ponsa has developed a very strong Celtic theme becoming very popular with both Irish and Scottish visitors. In response to this market, a large number of both Irish and Scottish themed bars and restaurant have in recent years opened in the town.

Santa Ponsa is normally regarded as a family resort.

Alcudia, situated about 37 miles north of Palma Airport, is one of the many resort towns specially designed for family holidays with a more refined nightlife.

The warm shallow waters of Alcudia Bay make this resort very popular with families with young children, and the beach is without doubt a major attraction with fine, clean sand with a wide variety of water sport and other facilities available to suit all tastes.

Whatever part of the beach you choose, you will never be more than a few hundred metres from the nearest beach bar or cafe.
