miles west.

7 miles west of Malaga.

Malaga
Port is situated about 1
mile east of the main Bus and Train
Stations.
The view from Malaga Castle
shows the scenic harbour that
attracts some of the largest cruise
ships in the world.
The area around the port has
been developed for tourists with
many excellent hotels, shops and
restaurants.

Malaga's
Malagueta Beach runs from
the port for a few miles east.
The beach was artificially made
in the late 1800s using sand from
the Sahara desert in Africa.
The beach is mainly used by
locals for sunbathing and swimming.
Many of the cruise ship passengers
also use the beach. Facilities
include showers, toilets,
lifeguards and sports activities.
The area next to the beach has a
good selection of bars, cafes &
restaurants.

The
Alcazaba , Malaga's Castle,
sits high above the scenic harbour
area and old town centre, about 0.5
miles northeast by walking.
The castle was built on top of
the remains of a roman fortress. It
was expanded and completed in the
14th century by the Nasrides.
Although the castle is now mainly a
ruin, it has two museums within for
tourists.
The archeological
museum shows artifacts from the
gotic and greek centuries. The
Museo de la Ceramica is mainly for
pottery.

The Roman
Theatre is situated below
Malaga Castle.
The theater was discovered in
1951. It has a radius of about 31
meters and height of 19 meters. The
theatre is believed not to have
been used since the 3rd
century.

restored.

Malaga's
Cathedral is situated about
0.4 miles northwest of the
port.
The cathedral was built between
1528 and 1782, believed to be on
the site of a former mosque.
The cathedral was original meant
to have two towers but the lack of
funds lead to it being completed
with only one. The cathedral is now
often referred to as, La Manquita,
meaning, one armed woman.

Torremolinos is a
popular beach resort town, situated
about 5 miles west of Malaga
Airport.
Torremolinos is noted for its
clean sandy beaches, good hotels,
many with sea views, restaurants
and a good variety of
entertainment, activities and
nightlife.
The height of
summer tends to attract the younger
set looking for the lively
nightlife.
Out of season sees
the resort attract a wider range as
it becomes quieter and more
relaxing.

resort town situated about 15 miles
west of Malaga.
Fuengirola has grown from a tiny
fishing village into a vibrant
beach resort with many good tapa

Fuengirola’s main
attraction is its five miles of
sandy beaches, with many beach side
hotels. The beaches run from Sohail
Castle in the west to Torreblanca

This is the place to visit to
view the yachts and experience the
