Alicante Town

Alicante is situated about 7 miles northeast of Alicante Airport.

The Castle of Santa Barbara is is the most notable feature of Alicante, sitting high above the town.

There are a number of notable museums in Alicante. The Archaeological Museum of Alicante sheds light on history of the region, presenting artifacts from 100,000 years ago up until 19th century. The archaeological museum won the European Museum of the Year award in 2004.


The mild climate at Alicante makes it possible to maintain a beach life the entire year. In the area, there are both long stretches with golden sand and hideaway small bays as well as naturist beaches.

The most famous tourist beach is situated 5 miles north of the town named Playa San Juan. The beach consists of 4 miles of sand along the coastal road with plenty of seafront bars and restaurants. To access the beach you can bring your car or catch the bus or train service.

Benidorm is situated 37 miles northeast of Alicante Airport.

Altea is situated about 44 miles north of Alicante Airport.

This is without doubt one of the most charming towns to be found on Spain's "White Coast". If you want all night clubs and the bright city lights on your holiday, give Altea a miss.

This town is a holiday haven for the more discerning tourist who will be captivated by its medieval cobbled streets, its picture book old quarter and the delights of its palm-fringed seafront esplanade.

This is a typical Spanish Resort Town that not only has some good beaches, it also has an excellent street market every Friday morning and some brilliant shops, bars and restaurants.
